Church Membership | 60-Second Devo

What church do you attend?

I have a friend who didn't want to join any church. He thought joining meant excluding all the others! I appreciate his heart for the kingdom.

Church membership is a calling. It’s a way of saying,

“These are the people I'm called to grow with, be accountable to, and partner with in ministry.”

It clarifies our daily responsibility to one another. At the same time, every Believer is connected to other Believers everywhere.

In Acts 8, a new church begins in Samaria. Remember, the church in Jerusalem was still new and experiencing persecution. Yet when they heard about a church start in Samaria, they didn't hesitate to send Peter and John to help. They risked their strongest leaders to encourage and establish Believers in another community.

Let’s be the people who are devoted to God and one another in this community, in this generation and let’s see beyond the walls of our local congregation and intentionally risk our best to strengthen the church everywhere.

Our next Dinner with the Pastor and New Members Class is coming soon. Make plans to attend.
