Who is your 1?

Do you have 1 person in your life who you want to see come know Jesus as Lord?

• 1 person you are praying would come to know the saving grace of Christ?

• 1 person with whom you are focused on seeking out opportunities to share your faith?

• Who is that 1 person in your life?

In Student Ministry, we ask… who is your 1?

MY1 was established in our Student Ministry over 20 years ago as an opportunity for our students to engage lost friends at one of the most pivotal moments in youth ministry, Church Camp.

Simply put… God does stuff at Church Camp.

Over the past 2 decades, I’ve seen countless lives radically transformed at camp… including my own. I am truly grateful for the many lives changed not only at camp but through the MY1 challenge. Because of the generosity of our Church body giving to the MY1 fund, We were able to see 22 MY1 students join us this summer at camps. 

This summer, we have seen:

• 12 Salvations

• 19 baptisms

• 6 re-dedication’s

• 3 who responded to the call of ministry.

WOW. Glory to God. 

It truly is a blessing to see such a movement of God within GenZ. They are the Church, and I know that the people of our church believe that, or you would not support Student Ministry the way you do. For this, I am truly grateful. 

In many of the Student Ministry circles that I am a part of, there is a new phrase beginning to be used for these GenZ disciples. I didn’t come up with it, although I have certainly experienced glimpses of what others are seeing in them as well. The phrase is being used as a hashtag on social media platforms, a prayer request when ministers gather, and a whisper amongst the generation itself. 

The Revival Generation. 

History has proven that teenagers are the catalyst for the revivals of the past… So why not now? Why can’t they be the revival generation? What stops them? 

I can tell you one thing. 

I won’t. 

We won’t.

We WILL disciple this generation like they WILL be the ones to turn this nation back to God, like they ARE the Church TODAY, not the Church to come. 

When I mention this “revival generation” lingo to some of our students, they don’t really know how to respond. And for that, I’m grateful.

I’m grateful because we as a church have set the example that, ultimately, to change a generation… it starts with 1. Not multitudes. Not big sermons.
